MIIAA Submissions

We have made numerous submissions in the past 18 months on a range of issues, including National Registration, Electronic Health Records etc.  Many of the submissions are available publicly, but we are unable to publish them on the MIIAA website because, for example, the Senate of the Australian Parliament does not allow public distribution of submissions made to it via any avenue but their own website.  A list of the submissions made by the MIIAA since 2008 can be dowloaded below.

Releases position statement on Treasury Review

The MIIAA has today released its position statement on the Treasury Review of the Medical Indemnity (Prudential Supervision and Product Standards) Act 2003.

The submission focused on:

  • prudential supervision of insurers of health care professionals
  • product standards for employed medical practitioners
  • minimum cover amounts
  • linking access to government subsidies with the product standards
  • training institutions, clinical trials and volunteer health professionals.
