The role of the Medical Indemnity Industry Association of Australia (MIIAA) is to act as the peak body for the Australian medical indemnity industry and to represent its members on issues of common interest or urgent concern, where a common voice would add value to the Medical Indemnity Insurers (MIIs), the Medical Defence Organisations (MDOs), their members and insureds and/or the medical indemnity insurance industry.
The MIIAA is an industry association and its members include Australian based medical indemnity insurers and medical defence organisations. It officially incorporated on 27 September 2005 and is now governed by rules under the Associations Incorporation Act in NSW.
